Mark your calendars for our upcoming rides!

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

We hope you’re having a great fall. As daylight gets shorter but that doesn’t mean our cycling season is over just yet! Here are our upcoming rides for October and November.

Oct 15: Sikh Cycling Club × Foxy’s Fall Century

Foxy’s Fall Century is an event organized by Davis Bike Club. This is a classic fall ride that starts in Davis, CA, heads west to Lake Berryessa and Fairfield, and then returns back to Davis. There are a variety of route options:

  • 100-mile century – 3,100 ft climbing
  • 62-mile (100km) metric century – 1,100 ft climbing
  • 31-mile (50km) route – flat course

You must pre-register for this ride. If you are doing this ride, please e-mail info@sikhcyclingclub.com so we can connect you with any other Sikh Cycling Club members who are doing this ride.

Oct 22: Diwali on Mt. Diablo

Come light up your legs for Diwali & Bandi Chorrh Divas!

Mount Diablo is one of three cycling bucket list climbs in the Bay Area (the other two are Mount Hamilton and Mount Tam). In honor of Bandi Chorh Diwas and Diwali, let’s light up our muscles by taking on Mount Diablo! We’ll cross off this big climb from our bucket list and it’ll prepare us to take on the other two mountains.

The first 15 miles take us up the mountain, scaling over 3,000 feet before we reach the top and descend back down.

We’ll meet up at the Starbucks at 4000 Blackhawk Plaza Cir, Danville, CA 94506. Be ready to roll by 9 AM.

Nov 5: Sikh Cycling Club Century to the Yuba City Nagar Kirtan

Celebrate the Yuba City Nagar Kirtan with Sikh Cycling Club!

The Yuba City Nagar Kirtan is known as the largest Sikh festival in the United States. The festival happens on the first weekend of November celebrating the installation of the Guru Granth Sahib as the 11th Guru of the Sikhs. The Nagar Kirtan festival culminates on Sunday with a large procession through Yuba City, CA led by the Guru Granth Sahib. This year, it is slated on the November 5-6, 2022 weekend.

On Saturday, November 5, we’re planning a century ride from Gurdwara Sahib Sikh Temple West Sacramento to Gurdwara Sahib Yuba City and back, covering a distance of over 100 miles. The route is very flat. In past years, this was a one-way ride from Stockton, CA to Yuba City, however to make logistics easier, we start and finish at the West Sacramento Gurdwara.

This is the same flat route that we completed in 2021, with rest stops and wide shoulders for most of the route. We’ll keep fingers crossed that there’s no rain this year!

You are welcome to ride one way if you’d prefer to do 50 miles. However, you will be responsible for your own return transportation.
