Join our Hola Mahalla ride on March 24 in Sacramento!

Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Jee Kee Fateh!

We’re excited to kick off our 2024 season with our fourth annual Sikh Cycling Club Hola Mahalla Ride!

We’re returning to the Sacramento area, riding from Gurdwara Sahib West Sacramento to the Hola Mahalla Nagar Kirtan at the Bradshaw Gurdwara Sahib.

Hola Mahalla is the traditional Sikh festival in late March ahead of Vaisakhi (the largest Sikh celebration on the calendar). Established by Guru Gobind Singh in the 18th century, Hola Mahalla follows the Indian celebration of Holi — renown as the festival of colors.

In 1701, Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, invited followers to come to Anandpur Sahib after the celebration of Holi to engage in mock battles and exhibitions of military skill and various athletic feats. The tradition has carried on until this day.

What better way to kick off our cycling season than to honor the call of Hola Mahalla!

Join us on Sunday, March 24 at 8:00 AM at the Gurdwara Sahib West Sacramento at 2301 Evergreen Avenue, West Sacramento, CA. We’ll ride 45 miles round trip on the American River Bike Trail and on city roads to Bradshaw Gurdwara Sahib to partake in the second ever Nagar Kirtan. We hope you’ll join us in this celebration of the Sikh warrior spirit!
