Sikh Cycling Club’s Miri Piri Ride: a celebration of heritage and community

On Saturday, July 19, Sikh Cycling Club took to the roads for our annual Miri Piri Ride, a celebration of movement, meaning, and community on two wheels.

We began at El Sobrante Gurdwara in San Francisco, rolling through the cool morning air with purpose in our hearts and power in our legs. This was more than just a ride. It was a tribute to Miri and Piri, the Sikh principles of temporal strength and spiritual wisdom. With every pedal stroke, we carried both.

This ride also marked the official debut of our new Nishan kits. Bright xanthic and deep blue that take inspiration from the colors of the Nishan Sahib. Bold lines. Shared purpose. Whether you were riding with us or saw us from the sidewalk, we could feel how much we stood out on the road as a collective. The energy was magnetic.

Our route took us to the Berkeley Marina, where we gathered with our friends at Roaming Bean Coffee to celebrate their two-year anniversary. We shared coffee, conversation, and community. From there, we crossed the Bay Bridge to Treasure Island. With every climb and coast, we moved as one—strong, joyful, and grounded.

We had new faces and familiar ones. Some were riding their first group event with us, others returned and several veteran riders helped lead the way. That’s what makes Sikh Cycling Club special. It’s not just about cycling. It’s about showing up for one another and riding for something bigger.

We ride to build community.
We ride to move in Chardi Kala.
We ride to honor our heritage through action.
We ride with purpose.

If this speaks to you, then you’re already one of us.

Come ride. Bring your spirit, your bike, and your whole self.
We’ll take care of the rest.
